1.where does all the money goes? I mean, from all the Catholic church all over the world, where did the money, which to some called it "tithes", goes? Not just like in government that they get some taxes and then we can see the result of our taxes.

2.Why in the earth did the center of Catholism is in Vatican? Jesus was born in Nazareth and grew up in Jerusalem, and He never stepped in Vatican. Peter also did not stepped on Vatican.

3.Why did we pray to Virgin Mary? She is not a God! She's just the mother of Jesus in FLESH? Do you remember the first miracle of Jesus, in the wedding? Why did He called Mary as "woman"? And why did Mary tell the disciples to go to Jesus and not to her? Remember the Veil of the temple that divided into two at the time Jesus died? It only means we can pray directly to God. Not going through many saints. God is jealous, right? So wouldn't He be jealous if we worship and pray other people rather than Him?

i personally think the most common miss conceptions are that they are the one true church and that they do not worship idols or the mother Mary

I kind of think the catholics have more misconceptions about themselves than others do do from simple rational observation, something they have greatly discouraged over the years

One is that they pray only Mary. I teach in a Catholic school and found that not to be true. They say "Jesus" and "Lord" a lot more than I thought they would!

Probably the most common is that the Catholic church isn't a cult (it very much is).

There are also about a billion people who have the misconception that Catholics are right when they are actually wrong.

    1. Catholic Church was founded by the Roman Emperor Constantine, and that's why Catholics have a lot of pagan rituals.

    2. Catholics don't read the Bible.

    3. Catholics follow man made rules, such as the Catechism, and not God's Word.

    4. Catholics believe that the Pope is divine and sinless.

Well my dear, answer this and you will have the answer.

What are the "common" misconceptions about ______ <----- fill in your religion or any religion.

As you list those misconceptions, they mirror what people think about Catholics.

Religion has "left" our social environment so most people in society have not learned anything about religion. Hence, they "think" they know but really they do not.

In my days of growing up, Grandma and later Mama would "make" me read the Bible. Half the time I didn't understand what I was reading and the other half of the time I couldn't pronounce the words.

When I got married and had children of my own, many of the things I did not understand began to make sense. Many of the words I could not pronounce began to sink in and make all the sense in the world.

My Protestant friend went through the same "learning curve". Parents are the "first" teachers. The last 6 generations have forgotten that basic principal.

C'mon on in, sit a spell, take off your shoes. Ever heard those words? Think on it. Those were the days (sigh).

Catholics are not Christians. The biggest lie of all.
This lie perpetrated by Christian fundamentalists has been asked 5,081 times in Yahoo Answers.

Here are other lies about the Catholic Church which fundamentalists are trying to promote.

    >Because Catholics reject the tradition of "sola fide" ("faith alone"), they think they can work their way into Heaven and believe they are saved by works

    >Catholics think the pope does not sin

    >Catholics re-crucify Christ at their Masses (or at least think they do)

    >Catholics think Mary is part of the Godhead and is to be worshipped

    >Catholics worship statues

    >Catholics think they can't pray to God directly but have to go through saints

    >Catholics conjure the dead

    >Catholics believe people can be saved after they die

    >The Catholic Church teaches that one who isn't formally a Catholic is damned to Hell

    >The Crusades are an example of Catholic aggression

    >The Inquisition(s) killed hundreds of thousands of people and targeted Jews

    >Pope Pius XII was "Hitler's Pope" and didn't do a thing to help Jews during WWII

    >The Catholic Church wasn't around until the time of Constantine, a pagan who controlled the Church.

If any of these lies were true I would be the first to leave the Church. If anyone thinks there is a even a semblance of truth in any of these allegations I challenge them to post it and I will prove it is a lie.

Besides all that have mentioned above, I feel it is The Holy Eucharist:

Many Christian faiths outside the Catholic Church do not believe inthe presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The reply of the Catholic Churchis this: Mathew 26:26 - 28

And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke;and gave to His disciples, and said: "Take ye and eat. THIS IS MY BODY"And taking the chalice, He gave thanks, and gave to them, saying; " Drinkye all of this." "For this IS MY BLOOD of the New Testament, which shallbe shed for many unto remission of sins"

This is the New Covenant laid down by Jesus, whose Flesh is truly presenton the alter VEILED as the consecrated bread, so that those who are calledmay not die but have everlasting life. The Catholic Church and has beenfor 2000 years doing this in memory of Jesus as he said do this in memoryof Jesus as He had said; "DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME." This Command laid downby Christ is the reason for the existence of the Mass. Through there aremany man made and modern Bibles in our society today, they all have onething in common and that is Jesus Said " Take and eat, THIS IS MY BODY".The Jehovah Witness Bible is the only Bible that states otherwise; "Takeand eat, this means my Body." By this erroneous tampering with the Bible, they have diabolically taken away the Knowledge of HIS DIVINE PRESENCE.

The consecrated Eucharist is more than just a meal, it is a SACRAFICIALMEAL, and is the sacramental RENEWAL of the Cross of Calvary, in that thevery same Flesh of our Lord Jesus Christ, sacrificed on the Cross 2000years ago, is made present again on the Altar today during every Mass. The Host becomes the actual body of the Crucified Lord - JESUS IS PRESENT,BODY , BLOOD , SOUL AND DIVINITY. " THIS IS MY BODY." Further referenceindicating that Jesus is present in the Eucharist (MK 14:22, LK 22:19,JN 6:35, 1COR 11:27). In the Holy Bible Jesus States: John 6:51

"I am the living bread which came down from Heaven. If any man eat ofthis bread, he shall live forever; And the bread that I will give, IS MYFLESH, for the life of the world." Jesus is not speaking in parables noris he speaking symbolic, Jesus is saying literally that " … The bread thatI will give IS MY FLESH." If we do not receive the body of Christ we haveno salvation within us; Jesus has thus laid down His law for salvation.

Some people are often scandalized on this point as they find it difficultto believe that Christ would actually give us his body to eat and drink. However, our lord answered those Pharisees in his own time, that did notbelieve he could do such a thing by saying to them ".... Whoever eats myflesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on thelast day." (Jn. 6:58,54), So it seems that these arguments are nothingnew, it scandalized the apostles and the Pharisees but our lord simplyput it to the apostles "shall you to abandon me" it is only human to placelimitation on the power of god, however that is because we place our thinkingon earthly levels as we forget that with God all things are possible (Matt19:26).

The biggest "misconception" about Catholics is that they are Christians, when they are not.

All you need to know is listed in the website below.

I believe the most common is: Catholics are not Christians.

    Of course, under that falls:

    We worship Mary
    We worship Saints
    We worship the Pope
We are the Whores of Babylon
    We are drunkards
    We are cannibals

And I think we get the point.

I think the best one I ever heard was: "Beware brother and sisters, the eyes you see outside your windows are Catholics watching you!"

Yeah, because I just have so much time in my day to sit and stare through Protestants windows all day and night.

    1. Catholics PRAY TO STATUES
Wrong. Catholics honour the holy ones and Saints be making a stature of them. It is a culture of remembering them. EG: Great Araham Lincoln is remembered with a statue in his honour in Washington DC. When a great leader of a country dies, a statue or portrait of him or her is displayed and people bow their heads regardless of cultures, religion and race.

    2. We WORSHIP THE POPE.
Wrong. Catholics have a group of Cardinals that elect a Pope to become the leader. The Pope then uses the Doctrine to ensure the Catholic Community follows a set of tradition. The Pope is the Successor to Peter, Vicar of Christ, Leader of the Holy Catholic Church.

    3. CATHOLICS ARE NOT CHRISTIANS.
Wrong. Catholics are Christians. But Christians are not necessarily Catholics.

    4. THE VIRGIN MARY IS HOLY
Yes. Catholics believe that God choose Mary not because of some form of lottery draw. She was chosen as she was still pure at the time she was concieved by the Holy Spirit. Due to the believe of the Holy Trinity (God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit is one), the Virgin Mary becomes "mother of Christ", and as Christ is also God, "mother of God to. Protestants oppose strongly to this view.

    5. CATHOLIC MASSes ARE BORING.
Depends. Most find it boring as the mass goes through a standard procedure week after week. No games and dancing unlike in Charismatic churches. (Well, think of it this way, you won't be dancing and clapping when you are in the White House, would you?)
