What are withdrawal symptons from using Meth?

a day or so after using: the person's mood is irritable, edgy, easily offended. Last night the person developed a runny nose that just kept running. Today he woke up irritable and said that his head feels like it's in a cloud and his nose is clogged and running. He said his throat feels dry. It sounds like it could be a cold that has taken a few days to develop, but I have a suspicion it might be meth withdrawal. The person had not used meth in over a year and has lately been in a situation, due to no fault of our own, where meth is used frequently and blatantly. I hope to leave here as soon as possible. He promised he wouldn't do it again, and he has kept his promise thus far, but lately, being here and around it so much, I am worried. Like I said, we are leaving as soon as possible, as it's a sick, depraved, unsafe environment. In the meantime, I am curious what the physical and mental side effects of short term meth use would be? He would have only done it once or even a few times.

I want to add that before we arrived in this hellhole two weeks ago, he had not touched meth in over a year.

He has definately been using meth again as you know. It gives you those stiffles after using. The next day it makes you sound like you have a cold. I have even lost my voice for the next couple of days afterwards. The irritable feeling is when you are coming down and need more. I hate to tell you this, but as long as you are around it, the person who has used it is going to use it again no matter if they tell you they will not. You might as well plan on them using until you or away from that situation. It is so addictive. I have not used in quite a while but even I cannot be around it without using again. I have to avoid the people and the situations completely as that is the one drug that seems to pull you in and will not let you say NO. It is way more addictive than cocaine, weed, or any drugs.

All of the answers were wonderful, and I appreciate them. However, this particular answer used personal history that connected to my own situation, and I appreciate someone sharing their own experiences with me (a stranger) for no other reason than to help me. Thank you so much.

    Meth Withdraws include fatigue,
long disturbed periods of sleep, increase in hunger, depression, psychotic reactions, anxiety, and you feel like you need to blow your nose or drink a whole lot. This is caused by the Harsh chemicals mixed together inhaled or smoked causing your nervous system to think that you are needing or being these.

Using Meth once could kill you. Your friend is lucky to be alive and tell him that inhaling this product Kills brain cells that can never be replaced, when you inhale drugs it kills them twice as fast. Without these brain cells you start to loose control of your body, or these symptoms can become permanent.
