Eye contact vs. no eye contact - both imply attraction?

Although most would agree that frequent eye contact is a sure sign of romantic interest, do you think that avoiding eye contact can also be a sign? I've noticed that if a girl is confident she'll use eye contact, if not she'll avoid eye contact. What do you think?

Well this is certainly a good question regarding the nature of non-verbal communication. you see, it is correct that both of these can imply romantic interest. Now, it is impossible to state much about them as it is really up to the individual. Some people may prefer to look at the object of their attraction, this is perhaps indicative of high levels of confidence. However, a lack of eye contact can also imply shyness and also perhaps attraction. This question really comes down to the individual and how they operate in different situations. Good question.

I think if you're confident you can keep eye contact for a while across a room or something. If you're not confident or nervous then you'll look at someone until they look back at you, when they'll divert their eyes down or up to a clock to avoid looking. Brief eyecontact is meant to be a sign of attraction, just for more nervous people

totally im so shy and ill look at a guy if i like him but if he starts turning or catches my eye ill look away and not look bak for a while
if the guy smiles at me when our eyes catch then maybe ill be confident enough to keep eyecontact
