I have a bachelor of science degree in interior design. It is very intense. People that don't know about what we do think we are "decorators" which is a very different thing. Interior design is like interior architecture. Its about functionality and flow of interior spaces. How is the space going to function if we move this wall over there...will the focus of the room be thrown off if the window is enlarged.....etc. etc. We work with structural engineers and contractors, plumbers, electricians, you name it. We are able to get into the minds of our clients by asking the necessary questions to find out what they want to do so that we can then use our skills to give them ideas and options to make their dreams and desires actually happen! We are very needed as people are realizing more and more that the functionality and aesthetics of spaces don't just affect ourselves visually, but they affect our mood, our minds, our souls, and ultimately affect our daily well being. That's why I do what I do.
