Where can i download ebooks for free?

Question

i know this is a common question but i want links where i can actually find books by anne rice, ursula le guin, Poppy Z. Brite, and other fiction novels. I'm also looking for these titles:
Pimsleur- Spanish 1 Reading Booklet
Barron's Mastering Spanish Book
Countdown to Spanish - Learn to Communicate in 24 Hours

you can download free books only if they are in a public domain. It means that they were written and published before 1931, and author rights have expired. It means that anyone can distribute/publish them for free.
Books written/published after 1931 are copyright. It means that the author of the authors' heirs receive royalties (money) from every publication, and every sale. You can't get these books for "free". You will have to pay for it.
Meanwhile, if you are looking for older books than those you mentioned to read and download for free , try gutenberg.org
