Suspended Auto Registration New York State (NYS)?

Question

Can you sell your car if you registration has been suspended by New York State? My insurance lapsed and I have to serve out my suspension until Aug. 2008. That being said, I have a restricted license so I can drive, I just can't drive my car. So can I sell the car? If so, can you send me a link or some kind of evidence showing that I can or can not? This would be a GREAT help!!! Thanks to all in advance...

Since cars are sold by title, not by registration, yes you can sell it, but the buyer would have to get it registered and tagged before he could drive it. It could, of course, be towed or trailered.
