Google Knol ! Do you think we have raisons to be afraid ?

Knol is a project planned by Google for user-generated articles on topics ranging from "scientific concepts, to medical information, from geographical and historical, to entertainment, from product information, to how-to-fix-it instructions. It was announced on December 13, 2007.

so what, there is plenty of internet competition out there. There is competition among MSN, Yahoo, Google, AOL, etc. So there is nothing to worry about, it will more than likely be another online encyclopedia.

Afraid of what? I don't understand your question. When you ask it, it actually sounds like you're a member of Wikipedia talking with one of your co-workers since it's Wikipedia Google is hunting down. So to answer your question, yes! You have reason to be afraid if you're a member of that site. Google is geared with the most popular search engine in the world, you see, and as soon as they kick your wikipedian butts off their search results, you will have been knolled!

Probably not. Yahoo Answers is unique in that it doesn't try to create pages about particular topics. Instead, unique "long tail" questions are constantly being raised, which are almost the opposite of Knol, which is likely to focus on popular topics.
