Any ideas for a handmade holiday gift?

I'm a little short on cash to give my friends and family extravagant gifts, and everyone is always saying that people appreciate handmade gifts. Anyone have any ideas of gifts that are not WAY too time consuming, but still are meaningful?

Make some Peppermint Ice, buy some small to medium metal round tins, line them with festive colored tissue paper and put a bow and ribbon on them.

Peppermint Ice - sometimes called Peppermint Bark - is easy to make. Crush enough of the round red & white striped peppermint candies in a food processor to make one cup. Melt one pound white chocolate and then stir the crushed peppermints into the chocolate until well blended. Then spread out on a sheet of wax paper and let cool/harden overnight (or at least six hours). Break into pieces.

It tastes great!
