I wear it because it is a commandment from God. You'll find that in religious history, some of the most noble women wore veils and modest clothing to cover themselves, and I think that by wearing the hijab, it encourages a Muslim woman to fulfill that pious and noble character that the veil portrays. My government (the US) doesn't (yet) limit me from wearing hijab, so the only difficulty I have is the reactions of ignroant people around me. Of course that doesn't deter me and it really takes a lot to get me upset or to bother me. Lol, reminds me of a story. I was leaving the mall one day from a day with my mom, and it was great weather so I had the windows rolled down. A guy and his friend pulls up next to me at the stoplight and says "Take that thing off, you in Amurca." (Yep, he said Amurca, kinda like how Bush says it) So I gave him a look that so said "mind your own business, doorknob" and his friend looked so embarassed, then I rolled up the window. My mom was shocked that I took it so well, lol! I don't think that even she would have if it had happened to her, and she's totally the passive type.
Anyways, back on topic... aside from the occasional run-in to some ignorant dope, I've never struggled with the hijab, alhamdulillah (thanks to God).
