What is the best cure for gas for children with CP or other physical disabilities?

My son is 6 and is wheel chair bound. He gets very bad gas pains from not being able to move around and walk like other kids. Any suggestions or experience with a similar problem? We tried all of the normal over the counter drugs and even some prescription ones (charcoal) that just don't seem to relieve him of the gas pains he gets. HELP!
