When I first started taking it I had bad nausea. It only lasted about a week or so and then I tolerated it just fine. Check with your Dr or RPh, they may say you are reacting to the fillers in the generic, not the main active ingredient, Sertraline. Good Luck!!

Generic Zoloft is sertraline. It is an antidepressant and is considered to be in the group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Generic Zoloft shows its effect on the chemicals in brain that cause depression, panic, unbalanced behaviour and anxiety. This pill is ... used to treat obsessive compulsive symptoms and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.

Alcohol and other drugs that cause drowsiness or sleepiness may interact with generic Zoloft hence a patient should avoid such things during its intake. One should ... avoid machinery operations and driving if one is into the medication of Zoloft or sertraline. Tremors, seizure, muscle stiffness, sweating, confusion, problem in balance are some of the serious side effects generic Zoloft can cause. Less serious side effects associated with generic Zoloft intake are drowsiness, sleep problems, nausea, stomach problem and change in libido.

Are you talking about Sertraline? I used to work in a pharmacy, so...I'm not sure if nausea is a side-effect, but depending on the severity, I would definitely consult your doctor or call a nearby pharmacy. The pharmacist is always there to offer free and confidential support and information, and they may be able to suggest any over-the-counter medications that will aid with the nausea or even tell you to stop taking the medication until you talk to your doctor.
