How can I stop mushrooms from growing in my plants?

I have many plants growing in containers on my porch. Lately, dozens of yellow mushrooms have started appearing. I pluck them out, but it's useless, as dozens more appear. What can I do to get rid of the mushrooms, without endangering my vegetables and flowers? I would prefer for any method to be organic.

The mushrooms are absolutely not hurting your plants. In fact, the mycelia they're arising from is breaking down the organic matter in the soil, making nutrients more accessible to your plants. In a few days the mushrooms will stop coming. Many kinds of soil fungi actually make partnerships with plants and help them grow better - none of the bad-plant-attacking-fungi make mushrooms. Anything commercially available to stop fungi is not recommended for vegetable-growing.
