Accutane works by shrinking the oil glands in your entire body. Thats why you get really dry skin all over from it. It will work for your back, chest, and neck area. I took Accutane 5 years ago and it is a wonder drug. It will make you break out more initally, but after 3-4 months of treatment you will be amazed at the results. I didn't get a single breakout for 3 years after treatment. I also would break out on my chest and back. I am currently taking another round because the breakouts started to come back on my face and chest (Not half as bad as before). I would tell anyone who is fed up with acne to take it. It does have some side effects, more so for women ( Severe birth defects if she were to become pregnant). Also can raise your cholesterol and mainly the problem with your liver is you can't drink alcohol while on the medication. If you want to know more about it go to the actual Accutane web site, and it will list all the potential side effects. Hope this helps
