Will lortab(1050mg) show up as hydro or lortab on a drug Test?

Because I was prescribed vicodin ES 750 for my pulled teeth and I ran out. The dentist wouldn't give me any more,therefore,I took a lortab(1050mg) from a friend of mine with 2 of my own pills. Even though I have a prescription am I in danger of failing a drug test?

Lortob is just one of the many brand names of hydrocodone. Just like Vicodin. It will come up positive for opiates, just like with any narcotic.


If you have proof of prescription, there should be no problem because it is legal. If you don't, you are SOL.

Too bad, so sad.


BTW.... Vicodin ES is 7.5/750.....not 750/750...that would kill you.

lortab is just the trade drug name for hydrocodone. It's the same thing.

And why did you run out? Were you popping your vicodins like m&m's?

Good grief, why are you borrowing a controlled substance from another person and combining them with another controlled substance? Do you want to screw up your liver?

If the lortab showed up you would not be able to show prescription because it was your friends

Lortab is hydrocodone and another med, acetaminophen I think, in a different concentrate than Vicodin ES (hydrocodone 750mg/acetaminophen 750mg).

Lortab and vicodin are both the same drug- hydrocodone, they are just different strenghts. It will definitely show up on a drug test that you took this medication, but if you had a prescription for vicodin, you should be able to use that as proof of why it was in your system. However, If the level in your system is extremely high, they may ask for a copy of the script to see the dates it was taken and calculate how much should be in your system now. As a pharmacist, i have been asked by companies to perform this calculation.

it will show up as an opiate period. if you have had a written prescription in the past year your in the clear. I wouldn't worry about it.
