Is the psp slim a half way point to psp2?

Question

Is the psp slim suppose to be a half way point from the original psp to a possible psp 2. For example the slim ps2 was between ps2 and ps3. So what Im wondering is should i buy a psp slim or is sony planning the realse of a psp2 in which case i will wait. Or if sonys slim is suppose to be basicly a psp 2 meaning their wont be a a new psp version relese for at least some years to come.

There won't be a psp2 for a few years, seeing as there has been no official announcement, nor rumors. I would just get the slim, it will be a while before there is a new one.

the slim ps2 (as far i know) was just slimmer, didnt have any better hardware.

its just a slimmer version. thats it.

No sony have not released anything saying there will be a new psp anytime soon. The slim was there update to it and i guess youshoudl buy this as they would of started developing their next device after the new psp slim. This means it could be 3 or 4 year before it is release. PSP are the ultimate machine. If you trade in your old psp to game they will give you the new one for £70
