Lortab side effects?

Went to the ER last night, got stitches, & Rx for Lortab to ease the pain. Took one last nite & it helped the pain, but then couldn't go to sleep.
I thought Lortab is a narcotic & a side effect is drowsiness -- why was I wide awake til 1 a.m.?

Lortab is acetaminophen and hydrocodone and comes in many different strengths. It may be that you were prescribed a lower strength, so it would have less sedating side effects than a higher strength preparation. Also medications effect everyone differently or if you had eaten with it, it would have less effect.

well you might require more than one Lortab to put you to sleep it depends on your body weight and height how much it will affect you. I know that when I take it for pain 1 makes me drowsy but 2 will knock me out so it depends
