Will a cactus live under fluorescent lighting?

I have a small cactus in a small pot on my desk at work. I am not near a window with sunlight. But, there are fluorescent lights everywhere that are always on. Will this lighting be sufficient for the cactus to live? If so, how often do I water it?

Additional Details

I want to emphasize there is no natural sunlight around my desk, only artificial light.

Depending on the cactus some live quite happily under flourescent lighting.

Water less frequently than you normally would. Let soil completely dry out before you water.

I think so. I'm allergic to cactus es, but my friend has one. It lives under fluorescent light, and it's been alive for like 2 years now!

Yes, a cactus can live under flourescent lighting. Water every two weeks or so, you need to let the soil completely dry between waterings.

Nothing can live under a fluorescent light, my man. Not even people. Oh God, help me. My house is totally using fluorescent lighting! Oh man, I have great eyesight, so I can see it flickering back and forth. It's HELL!!! So white.... I cannot live like this anymore! Oh.. theres the... oh my God. Theres the Ghost Kitty.
