Annie John by Jamaica Kincaid?

I need to know many things about annie john like what is symbolism in it. I am not done yet but i cant find anything yet. I need to know at least, theme, irony, symbolism, and plot. Can someone help me out!!!!!!

Annie John by Jamaica Kincaid is such an easy book! It takes just about 2-3 days to complete. I read it when I was in the 6th grade for my own enjoyment. You should be reading it yourself, but since I've read it, why not share huh? (had to say that)
Anyways, Annie John grew up in Antigua where life is partially laid back. At her age, she is understanding the importance of many things that she used to overlook and tries to learn a much as she can on her own. Much later in the book, she moves from that island, it is just basically how she talks about everyday life.
