It certainly can kick start your metabolism for the first 10 days to 2 weeks of usage, but it is only a small portion of what you need to do. Eating healthy 5-6 times a day, drinking plenty of water, and getting regular exercise is the only way you can really lose weight. Don't go for gimmicks, they don't last long and are not good for you. Please, if for $35 dollars we could take a pill and be skinny don't you think we would all be skinny?

    Two problems with Hoodia:

    (1) It has nasty side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anxiety, sleeplessness, excessive sweating, irritability, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, etc.

    (2) It doesn't address the core problem. Know why diets don't work? Simple: People look at a "diet" as a temporary fix that you do for a little while until you lose the weight you want to lose, and as soon as you reach your goal you go right back to the bad habits that made you overweight in the first place. Same thing with Hoodia and other diet pills -- they fix a symptom and don't address the cause of weight gain, which revolves around poor diet and lack of exercise.

BOTTOM LINE: 98% or better of people who try special diets or diet pills don't keep the weight off once they lose it. They end up gaining it back, with interest, as soon as they stop taking the pills or eating the special diet. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to make permanent changes in your eating and exercise habits. Anything else is a band-aid fix at best and will usually result in you being even worse off than when you started.

Hoodia does work. My wife and I both use it with good results. She has lost over 30 pounds. I have only lost about 10 so far but I started 2 months after she did.

It does not cause us any side effects at all-some of the answers left in this thread were really off the wall.

Also-Hoodia is a appetite suppressant. Thats All! It takes the "edge" off your your appetite.

It does not kick start your metabolism or anything else!

If you are having trouble sticking to your diet or controlling your portion sizes hoodia could help you. If you want to learn more try http://www.hoodiapure.org there is a lot of info there.

We have used the #1 and #2 products they review with good results. We prefer #2. They shipped faster.

    Hope this helps, John B

My friend swears that it worked for her, but she says you HAVE to get the liquid hoodia, not the pill form. You can order it fairly cheap here http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/br…

Apparently the pills are not 100% hoodia, not all are even pure hoodia, just some stuff that labs created and called it hoodia.

Its an appetite suppressant, so you if eating is not your problem, it probably won't work. If eating is your problem, it will make you cut back.
