Sorry if this sounds rude/racist but I hate Americans!?

This sounds terrible but I really dislike most Americans, you seem rude, loud, arrogant, often illiterate and stupid and I can't find any people who don't fit into this stereotypical view I have of Americans. People are going to respond to this with "THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, WOOOO" and stuff like that. I really don't want to be abbrasive I just want to know...

Am I essentially being racist here? Also are there any people who don't fit in the stupid loud American mould? If so who?

Additional Details

ck that was quite a rude answer for someone who considers their culture to be so friendly. I lived in Manhatten for 4 years met loads of people and disliked nearly all of them. They were all rude and incredibly loud and proud.

US_DR_JD are you taking the piss here? Everyone who disagrees with me seems to do it in such a harsh manner, saying I need a phd to understand American loudness is just a joke. My Uncle has a phd in philosophy and considers Americans to be the rudest culture in the World, also as Bertrand Russell said "Men are born ignorant, not stupid. They are made stupid by education."
Also what would be more suitable than racism, perhaps I can say anti American? All the counter arguements have enforced my belief that Americans are lazy idiots, thanks for your time.

Oh and you spelt travelling wrong. Looks like a phd isn't worth it after all if you still can't outsmart a 22 year old with one ;-)

don't hold back, slowpoke, tell us Yanks how you REALLY feel about Americans. by the way, you failed to inform us what country you reside in. hopefully it isn't france. we are tired of liberating the french from invaders so they can be free to hate us as much as we hate them.

Thanks for the effort you loud mouthed morbidly obese nation of pride, good work!

Really, and how many Americans have you talked to? Are you just judging by what you see on TV? Some americans are rude loud and arrogant. But, then again, some europeans are rude loud and arrogant. And some asians, and some latinos, and some australians, and every other country out there. You're definitely generalizing. And I assure, you, most americans are quite literate. Get off your high horse, honey. You sound like the rude one.

You have the right to have your own opinion, from which country are you?.
Myself I'm not against Americans, there mostly nice and friendly and very social, but maybe you had a bad experience and then I can understand this.

We had here in Mortsel(by Antwerp) a very bad experience with America 2nd worldwar they did not liberate us but put bombs on us(the six plains of Clark Gable, yes that filmstar!), so the people of that city are not very keen on them.

Well, meet everyone in American then you can make a final judgment. Most Americans are complete opposite of the ones you described.

You don't sound like a bad person, so I'm sure you know you are generalizing like mad!!
There are loud-mouth boors in every culture. We have more than our fair share, but most Americans {the ones you don't see} are kind and respectfful.

Since American isn't a "race" I can't help but notice that you are not any brighter that the illiterate and stupid people you bash on here. The main question in all this is whether or not anyone cares about your opinion. Based on what you have shown us, I don't.

Of course there are people that don't fit into that mold. I don't consider myself as any of the ways you describe above. However, during my travels I have come across a few Europeans who have fit into this mold. But I don't generalize and say all Europeans are that way, because I know that to be untrue. I believe no matter where you go you will come across people with those specific attributes. Just because you have had bad experiences with a few people of a certain population, you can't characterize all of the population as being that way.

I think your just going by the stereotype of Americans and that stereotype is there because there are plenty of American that fit it but not all of us. We can say the same things about people from just about anywhere, including different parts of America. People from here are this, people with this color skin are that. Someone even answered with a popular stereotype of the French. Let me cover some bases.
French, rude cowards we have to save from every invader that comes along.
Aussies, drunks that beat their kids.
    Kiwis, same as above.
Asians, smart and deceitful, greedy, tight with money
    Jewish, tight with money
Middle easterners, tight with money, greedy, murderers, terrorists
Indians, all own 7-11's and Subway sandwiche shops
Mexicans, lazy, thief's, and all Latinos are Mexican by the way.
    Russians, communists and criminals
    Germans, Nazi's
    Poles, Stupid
    Canadians, stupid drunks
    Norwegians, blond, good looking
British, proper, good manners, hate the French
Cant forget the Americans, loud, greedy, decadent, mean, bad manners, arrogant, stupid, illiterate.

Let me correct this, People from the mountains are nice and friendly, people from the big cities are rude except in the south then they are friendly but have lower IQ's, its the accent. People from New York are all rude and muggers, People from New Jersey are loud, everyone in San Francisco is gay, everyone in Oakland it black, everyone in San Jose is Latino, I can go on and on.

Remember when there is a problem anywhere in the world, any kind of disaster, anything like that the United States is right there to help out, our military send personel, our charity organizations send aid, the people donate money and time and supplies. We foot the bill. The American people, by direct donations or our tax dollars.

If we stopped spending our money all over the world and only concentrated on using it for US problems we wouldnt have any problems. Of course then we would be uncaring and greedy, self centered, because we were not willing to help everyone else in the world out.

And, if we are so bad and evil, how come so damn many people want to come here? It isnt just for Disneyland cause they dont go home.

2 put it simply...your making the fallacy of Broad Generalization!
    u r judging the Americans u meet...& appling that 2 ALL Ameicans!
Keep an open mind when meeting new americans & maybe your opinion will change eventually!
Everybody makes that mistake & judges people 2 quickly!
4 example americans judge the french..w/o even meeting them!
1 more thing...i guess outsiders think in terms of "American" mold..but wat exactly does that really mean!
    think about it!
    french=snooty
    middle east=terrerist
    mexicans=illegal
    ITS ALL WRONG!!!
people nead 2 be careful when "classifing" people!
if 1 person does something..it does not mean that the whole country is like that(altho thats the case sontimes!)
think about all that & i think most will not consider u racist!
    GOOD LUCK!!!

One you are rude, but not a racist. American isn't a race.

Two you are ignorant. If you actually lived in Manhattan for as long as you did, you would think you would know how to spell it.

You have the right to your opinion. However, you fit my opinion of most Europeans. I don't know if you are European, but you certainly sound it.

Maybe you found Americans rude, because they didn't put up with your condescending attitude. Most Europeans that I've met think they're better than everyone else. If you truly hate America, don't come. We won't miss you.

Also, check your spelling of traveling before you accuse someone of spelling it wrong.

As there is no race in the Americas you cannot be a racist. You could, however, be ignorant, illiterate or stupid. I don't know and you have not met me or most Americans. By the way, you probably don't realize that when you speak of the Americas, you include several countries on 2 continents and several island nations, some of which are British, French, Dutch and Spanish in origin. I think based on ignorance and not stupidity you are confusing the United States with "America".

Your ignorance is probably because you are 22 y/o and have not experienced much of life yet. If you go to one area of any country you might find a lot of people you don't like. Try traveling around the world some before you start making rash judgments. I'm not even going to judge you based on one incredibly asinine question.

Just from the way you phrase your question, the more important point is; many people might not like you!

By the way, you also misspelled abrasive.

It is pretty brash for a person, who has not completed his education, to call people ignorant and stupid. Get a Masters or Doctoral degree and experience more of the world before you make judgments about people in general.

EDIT: I would have thought you would have noticed (having spent so long in Manhattan) that there is no individual race in the US, This being an immigrant nation is made of peoples from all races, cultures, and national origins. (Funny last time I was in Manhattan I thought I might have noticed more than one shade of skin coloration.) Therefore to call your opinion (as ignorant as it is) racism is again incorrect. Please see the U.N. definition of racism and racial discrimination.

Secondly, if you check a US version of the dictionary, you will find that the doubling of the L before adding ing is not used in this country (as in traveling or travelling). However, I do apoligize for using a spelling which would seem to be inapproriate on the UK site.

Third, all Ph.D.s are technically "in philosophy"; as the title Ph.D. means Doctor of Philosophy. Though it is usually conferred in a particular field, such as: Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Biology. This being different than all the many other forms of doctoral education available today.

Additionally, I again point out that there are many countries in the Americas besides the USA. Your anti US rhetoric would be better if you understood that. Or are all people in the UK British? I would think that the Irish, Scots and Welsh for example would prefer not to think of themselves as Brits. I have never known a person of Irish heritage to say they were British. But I guess that would be a cultural bias.

Finally, as far as babies, being born ignorant and made stupid by education, it would seem that some people are born ignorant and stay that way. And it would seem a B.Sc. in IT could develop stupid to an artform.

Thank you for your kind consideration of my comments ;-)

    Have a great day!

You hate an entire nationality of people based on a few that you've met, and most likely what you've seen on t.v.

Your punishment is that you shall wallow in your own ignorance for the rest of your life. Not ever knowing how incredibly ignorant and stupid it is to hate a person because of their nationality. I pray for your friends that they don't succumb to the stupidity and ignorance that you've seemed to embrace.

Have a nice life, and remember that the world is better when it's full of people unlike yourself. You should have been aborted. What a complete waste.

P.S. Have you ever thought that perhaps it's not Americans who have the problem, but rather you? I'll let you suck on that thought for awhile. Not like it'll do any good.
