welll, which do you want? the textbook answer or real life experience? OK, Well, just in case I'll give both.
Text book - NEVER consume alcohol while taking other medications.
Actually - most medication can tolerate alcohol, but flagyl (metronidazole) is a little sensitive. Many people can take it just fine and consume alcohol without any problems. It does however decrease the efficiency of the medicine.
In a slight percentage of people mixing flagyl and alcohol produces an "exorcist" like effect of projectile vomiting.
Only one way to find out.... (good luck!)
Source(s):
administered the medication, taken the medication myself (for other reasons) and had friends that have been on the medicine.
