Inner ear infection?

I have an inner ear infection and I have been taking antibiotics for about three days now. I got the medicine on Sunday...Amoxicillin, cortisporin drops and Tylenol 3. My ear is still hurting just as bad as it was before...Is this normal? I thought it would be some better by now!! Has anyone had this problem or do you know how long it takes to clear up. I am an adult, 26 years old, not a child. Thanks!!

i've suffered with ear infections all of my life.
it's only been 3 days, not enough time for anitbotics to kick in.
amoxicillin isn't a great antibiotic, i am only able to take Keflex because i'm allergic to everything.
Floxin Optic Singles are great for ear infections.
put a heating pad on your ear when you can, it'll reduce the pain.
avoid eating food that you have to chew alot, it'll hurt and irritate your ear more.
warm sweet oil will help in your ears too, the warmth of it will make them feel better.
advil is good for pain, if you're over 200 pounds you can take up to 800mgs, that's i think 3 or 4. it will knock the pain out.
if you shower, use ear plugs or put cotton in your ears with vaseline[sp?] over it to make it water resistant or it could develop into swimmers ear.
DO NOT USE Q-TIPS! that will also make it worse.
you are welcome to IM me, i'm not a pro on ear infections, but i'm pretty close.

btw, if it doesn't get better within 4 days from now[your 7 dayss of letting antibiotics kick in] you should go back.
