What causes the tip of your finger to go all numb and tingly after you spraypaint something?

This happens to me every time I use a can of spraypaint. The finger that I use to push the button goes all numb and tingly. Am I pinching a nerve in my finger? How do I prevent this in the future?

Additional Details

Could my finger be asleep for 2-3 days after the fact?

well i spray painted almost a week ago and my finger tip is still numb so yes
call a doc. if it continues or the numbness goes to a different part of ur body

You are cutting off the circulation to the tip of your finger, it is the same when you sit on your foot or lay on your arm, they fall asleep. Same thing...
