How close can a new building be erected to an existing property boundary fence?

this varies from council to council but i think you will find it is 4inches, but only an idiot would build this close, cos it will need maintaining & you dont have to let them onto your property to do thsi more than once so beware check with your planning department & get it in writing then they cannot argue the fact

Depends on a lot of things, to do with height, acccess and light etc.. but I think there is possibly a 1m restriction guideline..?

Check with your local council for building regulations.
It could be as little as 2 feet or 60cm (in the case of a structure like a garage with no eaves) Or it may be much more if there needs to be an easement to cater for drainage or other factors.
