Chron's Disease is a form of inflammatory bowel disease. It can occur from the mouth all the way up to the anus. The inflammation goes through all the layers of the intestines and appears as 'skip lesions' or 'cobblestoning' on colonoscopy. Irritable bowel syndrome presents with non-specific symptoms such as constipation-diarrhea. Basically, IBS is a wastebasket diagnosis, it is the diagnosis if all other conditions are ruled out.

well, ibs = irritable bowel syndrome... something you get frequently, such as bloating, diarehea or constipation. Sometimes it's caused by what you eat or stress or a combination of the two. Crohn's Disease is much worse and is considered a chronic inflamitory disease. Any part of the digestive tract can become diseased, scarred and swell up (sometimes even infected) and then doesn't work right to aide in digestion.

This is a good question. IBS, irritable bowel syndrome, is a syndrome with a constellation of symptoms such as cramping, bloating, abdominal pain, constipation and diarrhea. Some people experience an extreme urge to run to the bathroom after eating. It is not a serious condition in that it doesn't lead to cancer or any such thing, but the symptoms themselves can be quite disabling to the folks that have to deal with them. There are medications available for IBS and many of them work quite well, controlling the symptoms and thus allowing the person to live and eat quite comfortably.

Crohn's disease is a much more serious condition and is harder to diagnose. Unlike ulcerative colitis (where ulcers appear in the colon), Crohn's can appear anywhere in the digestive tract. It basically is an inflammation of the lining of the tract itself and can affect different areas all up and down the GI tract at the same time. Due to the inflammation deep in the lining of the tract, Crohn's causes pain and diarrhea, but can also be associated with passing blood as well as having a fever. Blood test can be done to see if the white blood cell count is high. Passing blood due to Crohn's can also cause anemia. Severe Crohn's can lead to fissures or fistulas forming between the lining of the digestive tract and other organs in the body. Once it gets to this stage, surgical repair is warranted. There are medications for Crohn's disease and nutritional supplements are helpful (since the GI tract is probably not absorbing nutrients the way it should be).

Both of these conditions need to be monitored by a doctor and should never be left untreated. Hope this helps!

IBS is irritable bowel syndrome. This is caused by food that is not being digested properly. You can generally cure this by using coffee enema's, a quality probiotic from: www.natren.com/ Buy the 3 in 1 probiotic and take one of the capsules every day.

To fix the digestion, you need to take Betaine HCL (2 - 4 capsules after every meal, 1 - 2 capsules of activator after every meal, and a digestive enzyme take it during the meal.) I suggest the best place to purchase this is from: www.healthline.cc (not .com) because they make it with only very pure ingredients and without ANY excipients that other manufacturers use that interfere with the effectiveness of the ingredients.

You should also take nucleotides. I would take about 6 per day. Additionally, I would take Allicidin - about 8 per day for a few weeks. Both of these items will speed the healing process.

Stay completely away from antibiotics, all SOY products, all Canola oils, etc.

You also need to work on getting your morning pH in the 6.4 to 7.0 range. This is important. You can do this with taking about 8 to 10 calcium complex from the healthline company. If you find that you are having a problem getting it in the proper range, look to your teeth or other parts of the body for low grade infections that are not allowing this to happen.

Chron's disease is from Parasites. You can get rid of these with the right herbs, but on rare occassions, you need to see a real doctor that understands parasites, not the typical run of the mill doctor that has no clue and gives you drugs to fix the problem. It can take about 90 days to get the parasites out of your system.

The two diseases are distinctly different because each has it's own reason for getting it and the treatments are different.

Don't listen to the ignorant that tells you that these diseases are incurable. That is simply not true.

    Good luck to you.
