Has anyone taken Zofran during pregnancy?

At 9-1/2 weeks, I think I'm at my wits end. I'll have one day where I can eat without throwing up, and then the next three days or so I won't be able to hold anything down. My nausea seems to be getting worse and worse. I talked to my doctor this morning, and she called in a prescription for Zofran for me. I'm going to pick it up later and would like to know if anyone else has taken it, how it made you feel, and whether or not it worked and allowed you to eat and drink with some normalcy. The doctor stressed I'd have to be admitted if it didn't work to the point where I could at least keep liquids down consistently. I have already tried Reglan, which gave me an allergic reaction. If anyone could give me their experiences, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Yes, I was given Zofran after going into the ER for dehydration, vomiting, and a bad headache. It really really helps...it's the best stuff to take during pregnancy for nausea. The ER doc. did tell me not to drink anything for 20 minutes after taking it. And yes, if you aren't able to keep liquids down orally, the only way to get them in you is by IV fluids. Sip gatorade, it's like IV fluids in a bottle. Good Luck, I hope everything works out. I have heard a lot of positive responses about others whom were prescribed Zofran as well!

I took Zofran for several weeks and it was the only thing that helped me through the day. I was hospitalized twice for dehydration and that's when they wrote me the prescription. I took the kind that disolves under your tongue, and I found it worked best to keep it by my bed and take on before I got up in the morning. Then, about 30 to 45 minutes later eat breakfast.

I was prescribed just one to take before my glucose tolerance test because I kept throwing up the stuff I had to drink. The Zofran did work in that I didn't throw up, but it gave me a terrible headache. Good luck.
