Vyvanse Vs. Adderall XR?

I have been taking Adderall XR for year and a half to treat ADD. I justi started taking Vyvanse as the XR was not working like it used too.. Has anyone here done the switch ?? What dose do you take? My Dr. really didn't know anything about the Vyvanse so we started on the 30mg, I was on 20 mg of the XR Before. WHat side affects have you had if any? Have you had good expierences with the Vyvanse??

I used to take the Adderall XR myself, but then switched to Dexedrine Spansule. I have been on several different types of medication for my AD/HD, but I must say I've never even heard of Vyvanse. If your doctor is also unfamiliar, perhaps he should try you on a medication of which he is more familiar with.

Best of luck to you.

I recently switched, too. I had had been taking Aderall XR 25 and started on Vyvanse 70mg. What I have noticed is that Vyvanse lasts a lot longer - too long. I've had trouble getting to sleep, even when I take it before 7:00 AM. I've also noticed that I've been getting headaches, but I can't say for sure that Vyvanse is the cause. Vyvanse controls ADD well but I'm still considering switching back to Adderall. One added benefit of Adderall was that it controlled my asthma, too. Now I am having asthma symptons again for the first time since I started on Adderall a couple of years ago.
