Hi Gary,
I am not sure yoru damage or your life expectancy but none of us know really, we could die tomorrow or in 5-50 years time (depending on age too). Likelihood is the heavy drinking mixed with co-hydromol did the most "damage" but only a medical investigation could say how much.
The other medications i am persuming were perscribed and are not intended to do the patient harm, infact you were put on them to make you feel better and perhaps without them you may not be here to ask the question. Don't stop taking your perscribed meds, you have to take them for a reason!
You can't change the past if damage was done but good on you for being off alcohol for 6 months, stay away from it, its not doing you any good!
best of luck to you!

I have anxiety and depression and having been trying an alternative therapy called Emotional Freedom Technique and it has really worked for me and helped me a lot. Since using it I have been feeling a lot better. It's very good at getting rid of all kinds of negative emotions and dealing with all kinds of issues quickly. It does sound bizarre but does work. Might be something that can help you. These are some links about it. If you type fear of flying in the search engine of emofree.com you should find some articles about EFT being used on fear of flying.

Hi GaryS.
Firstly, I would like to say "Well done" for keeping off the booze.
Looking at the medication you've listed above, you are obviously in considerable pain, depressed and find it hard to have a good nights sleep.
Although nobody likes to take medication for longer than is necessary, your Doctor wouldn't keep you on any he/she thought you didn't need. I'm just glad you're keeping off the booze in case it had a counteracting effect on any of your medication.
As for your life expectancy.....Who knows???
I don't think ANYBODY is qualified to answer that one.
I hope your problems quickly disappear sooner rather than later.
Be lucky!
Be happy!
Be healthy!
Good luck.........

That is a difficult question to answer but I can tell you from experience that you have serious chemical dependency issues 40 mg of diazipam (zanax) a day for any period of time is very addicting. My experience with detoxing addicts and alcoholics is they are the 3 most addicting substances in this order Heroine, alcohol, and diazipam. You were an alcoholic Whatever your medical status now get in a program. Miracles happen one day at a time.

Well good for you keeping off alcohol, well done. I'm not sure or qualified to give you the correct info only if you had an operation then you would have had blood tests which would show up if damage done to your liver and lots of other things that you would have been tested for. I wish you well and stay off the drink, take care.

have a hepatic panel done every 6 months. it is a liver function test, your doctor should be ordering these for you anyway. Most medications are absorbed in the liver, so if any long term damage is ever done by long-term use of medications-checking the liver panel is a good bet! Drinking I would cut out all together, permanently, it is never good to mix medications with alcohol. I wish you well, hope all goes okay-good luck.Tash
