Should i pluck off some of the little cucumber's off our plants to make the rest grow better/?

I am 65, and have grown cucumbers all my life. I have never had to remove a single cucumber to get better or larger cukes. If anything, once they start setting on you have a hard time keeping them picked while they are still small enough to eat. Leave them alone, they will do just fine. Make sure they have enough water, they may droop a little in the heat, but will come out of it with a bit of watering. Cucumbers do not require a lot of attention. They may over grow the area you alloted for them, unless you grow them up a trellis. Basically, I would say cucumbers are one of the easiest to grow items. Just give them a little and you will have plenty of nice large fruits.

Yes, if you want to get larger fruits overall, then you should pluck them off.

Make sure you know the size that they're meant to reach, so you don't accidentally destroy your harvest.

I agree with dawnskye..I was raised on a farm and this is not a factor..cucumbers in fact will grow too big if you let them for i have seen some as big as small watermelons..of course no good to eat at this stage..You need to simply pick them at about 5 to 8 inches max... Also you may have bought a pickling variety or hybred that are designed to only grow 3 to 5 inches....

I grow them... this picture, the first plant on the right are one of my stakes of cucmbers..notice the straw on the ground..this prevents them from rotting fromsetting in wet dirt , and also aids in water not to evaporate...I have these on small trellisses also to keep off the ground some
