Side effects of amoxicillin for dogs?

My dog is on a 28 day course of amoxicillin, 250 mg caps twice a day.

Call your vet back ASAP if your dog is having ANY problems.

Dogs can have allergic reactions just like humans can. So watch for lethargic behavior, throwing up, and difficulty in swallowing and breathing. You could also possibly see swelling of the mouth, nose, and eyes, and intense scratching from possible hives and rash on his body.

In addition to allergies like the first answer describes,
antibiotics cause diarrhea. It's a perfectly normal response though, so don't rush to the vet.

Diarrhea mostly. You can feed double boiled rice to help firm it up if that happens. I am guessing erlichia or Lyme's disease with that kind of regime. I would make sure he has plenty of water.
