Purging Experience With Retin-A?

I was thinking about asking my doctor to put me on Retin-a for my mild, but stubborn acne. For those who have tried how bad was your inital 'purging'? How has it worked on your skin? I'm sure i'm going to get other recommendations, but please don't waste your time recommending proactiv, i'm allergic to bezoyl peroxide...

Ah, Retin-A. We had a love-hate relationship. I had mild acne and it was WAY to harsh for my skin. I had a red tint to my face all the time and it made my skin so sensative .. and I never had sensative skin. But initially, the 'purging' wasnt so bad. It also wasnt all at once either .. which I'm greatful for.

Now I'm on Duac, which is gentle and my face is clear now. But it has 5% Benzoyl peroxide.

I would see if theres any other meds. he can try for you. You can look into Differin (I dont know how much BP, if any, is in that though).

I would use Retin-A as a last choice, personally. I dont think I could ever go back on it LOL
