Singing - Don't like the sound of my recorded voice.?

Sometimes I think I sound quite good when I sing, but when I record myself on my phone (only recordable source I have..) I think I sound quite bad. Is this due to maybe me just not liking the sound of my own voice, OR because my voice has no music to it, OR because the recording quality is poor OR because I have no hope in singing?

it's a fact- the sound you hear is quite different from the sound we hear. None of us Will ever hear the sound you hear in your head. It's a questions of acoustics. The sound you hear on your recording is the sound we hear, so the whole point of singing lessons is to learn to integrate the inner sound with the outer, so that everyone is happy with the result. ( Your phone's recording quality is probably poor, so get a better device, but be aware of the fact that the best recording device won't lie to you.) The singers we often hear are so electronically enhanced in the studios that if we heard them without all that equipment, we'd have a hard time believing they were singers. Another plug for singing lessons- you learn to use your voice so that you don't need so much equipment...and still have a sound that satisfies the inner and outer audience.
