I wouldn't suggest wearing a sundress. You need somethin a little bit nicer, in my opinion. If you're really that unsure of what to wear just call the bride, I'm sure she'd be happy to answer any of your questions.

whatever you do don't wear white/ivory/beige/etc.
go to the fanciest store in town and ask the shop lady what she thinks is appropriate :)

If it is an informal daytime reception, a sundress is fine. Wear it with some nice shoes instead of flip-flops, however, and bring a nice shawl or cardigan to dress it up with and in case it is cold (some reception halls are VERY well air conditioned).

If it is a formal reception or evening reception, generally people will be wearing something dressier.

I think it matters on if it's a Garden type wedding or inside? What time of day is it? etc. Now a days, you see EVERYTHING at weddings. The last wedding I went to, i wore a "little black dress" because it was an evening wedding and evening weddings are typically considered "formal/black tie" events.

For a summer wedding you usually can get away with wearing a nice comfortable dress, cool dress. Number one rule though....never look nicer than the bride!! ;-)

Good luck in deciding what to wear and have fun. :-)
