Can pseudoephedrine help with weight loss? As good as ephedra?

Question

Last week I had a cold and was taking medicine constantly to control the symptoms, and was actually losing weight. A few days after I was off the medicine, I stopped losing weight. Was it the pseudoephedrine?

If anyone has experience taking pseudoephedrine to lose weight, let me know how it worked for you. (I also took Mucinex and a perscription cough medicine some of the days I was sick.)

I'm not interested in people telling me their opinions of the dangers, I realize one always needs to be cautious when using drugs for anything.

Additional Details

I have been eating healthy and controlling my portions for many months, so it's not that. If I had an even remotely normal metabolism I would be losing 10 lbs a month, but I only lose maybe 3 lbs a month on a good month.

Btw, I'm 32 and have had three babies, the youngest is 14 months.

I see no one knows the primary ingredient to Crystal meth. Thats right Pseudoephedrine. Yes that chemical increases metabolism If you want to boost weight loss take a b vitamin complex

Well your answer was most scientific at least. And I do take B vitamins, it doesn't work.

Lots of people lose weight when they are sick. It might be in part from the pseudoephedrine, but I'm guessing it's just a matter of you being sick and your body working overtime to try and get better.

I would think it was more the cold and you not eating as much than the pseudoephedrine. But, the pseudoephedrine may have sped up your metabolism some and caused the loss. I would be a bit careful taking too much of it, it can make your heart beat fast, meaning its a bit hard on your heart muscle. It can also raise your blood pressure.
