What are things you would suggest that a first time renter get?

I'm moving out and I need quite a bit. I'm really thinking more things for the kitchen because I have furniture, a tv, bedroom set, computer. I know I am needing to get a knife block set thing, as well as plate settings. I'm on a budget so if you know of a good cheap knife set or stainless steel pots and pans please post what they are so I can check them out. Thanks. Please post any suggestions you have for a first time renter.

The first thing you should get is "into the best neighborhood you can afford". The second thing is renters insurance. Pots, pans and plates are about 2 bucks a pound at your local Goodwill and Salvation Army Stores (and the money goes to some very good causes).

You need a small tool set... nothing fancy...but tools. You wont regret it !

If you have an Ikea by you go there for your kitchen gadgets - Walmart usually has good deals too.

Towels, sheets, laundry basket, garbage can, can opener, pots, pans, scissors, glasses, hangars,.....

Wal-mart has a cheap knife set for just a couple of bucks. Heavy duty paper plates are about $12 for 150. Metal flatware at (yea that place again) Wal-mart is about 4 to 6 pieces for a dollar. Cheap pots and pans??? Don't bother. Buy the good stuff. OH Yea, get a marker to write the dates on the doggy bags...ha ha ha

Hi, you'll need dish towels, sponges, soap dish, toaster, a Broiler pan was quite handy for me. Also a non-stick skillet, something to put butter in. A coffee pot.Whatever kind you like ,if you drink coffee that is. Some glasses of various sizes and cups. Salt and pepper shaker,a Dish drainer for your dishes.A colander,or something to wash and drain raw and cooked vegetables in. Some serving spoons(Big Spoons) You might check out the second hand stores,or Thrift Stores. There are lots of good kitchen things in those stores. I've gotten quite a few Copper pots,Kettles, and frying pans. The good ones too! From Portugal! just for a couple of bucks. Just go and see for yourself,or I'll keep on-and on.
