How safe is black bike week at myrtle beach?

For a 23 year old female going on a work-related trip with no experience in this sort of environment?

As always... Be smart and you will be fine. I live in Myrtle Beach and love both bike weeks. For those that do not know Myrtle Beach
Hosts "Bike week" mostly white Harley riders, and "black bike week" or to be more PC "Atlantic Beach Bike Festival". Most venders that sell shirts refer to it as black bike week so I have no problems calling it that either. Most riders that week are on sport bikes. i have lived here for 7 years, and I can tell you that during black bike week there is a lot more problems than during Harley week. The difference is not because one is made up of mostly black bikers and the other of white bikers. The real reason is because the average age during black bike week is probably 25, and the average age during Harley week is probably 38.

Never heard of "BLACK BIKE WEEK".... Do you ride at all, or somewhat familiar with people and bikes?

To answer your ?, crowds are crowds. As with anything that draws certain groups, anything can happen. Keep your eyes open, don't get run over (lots of bikes).

If you decide to go, be prepared for the crowds and noise. I was in Daytona in March and it was loud but lots of fun to watch. Eat early, places pack up fast.

BTW, God forbid if there was a "WHITE BIKE WEEK" or YELLOW or BROWN, did I leave out and colors.....

nothing bad will happen unless u make it happen. no1 is out to cause trouble no matter what the non-rider's said. respect given is respect earned. treat riders how u want to be treated. plain and simple.

Probably only slightly worse than Myrtle Beach Bike Week - but the merchants there hate it - it screws up their Memorial Day weekend $$$. Many just close down for the weekend. The police are also generally abusive.

Im thinking your asking how safe is a black female during Bike week in Myrtle beach , Personelly speaking I would say your safer there than any other place , Bikers are probably the nicest people you would ever want to meet ,of course you have an A Hole in every crowd , but its very exciting , Just check it out and have fun .

There is always trouble during that gathering, but it is overblown at times. Any gathering of that size is going to have its share of trouble makers. So I would not go with the intent of of having to fear things. If you see brewing trouble, just get away from it. Booze and drugs galore, but that is really what its all about for some folks. The merchants hate it, some don't open their doors for that week.
