^ these people are completely ignorant of the subject, so therefore I have to answer the question. If your speaking of straight Adderall, NOT Adderall XR, then the psychoactive effects will be felt for approx. 4 hours, followed by a 2-4 hour comedown. If you are speaking of Adderall XR, then the psychoactive effects last dramatically longer. The science behind XR is extended release formulation. Adderall XR incorperates a 6 hour delayed release on half of the dose within a capsule. Therefore if you take a 20 mg XR, 10 mg will be immediately released, followed by another 10 mg released 6 hours later, therefore making the XR potentially last for 10 hours or so.....

If you dont take adderall daily, I wouldn't take 20mg. Break it in half and the 10mg will last you at least 4 hours. Then eat the other when you need it.

anywhere from 8 to 16 hours depending on how long you have been been taking it
if it is extended release, you wont sleep for a couple of days, ans you cant cut adderall in half, it comes in a capule with beads inside of it
