You can't remove LiveReg or Live Update if you are using any of the Norton programs -- Antivirus, Systemworks, Personal Firewall, 360, etc. LiveReg and Live Update are required for those programs to operate.

If you aren't using any of those programs, you can uninstall LiveReg and LiveUpdate.

It is a huge mistake to uninstall the Windows Media Format runtime, as you'll need it to play current Windows Media files (WMV). If you watch no WMV files, it's OK to remove.

You should not uninstall any XP hotfixes of any sort. Doing so makes your computer vulnerable to attack or prone to crashing.

PlayLinc is probably fine to remove. However, if you also remove Windows Media Player and Quicktime, you probably won't be able to watch videos or listen to music, unless you have a third player type (such as RealPlayer or WinAmp).

You cannot remove Quicktime if you use iTunes. iTunes requires Quicktime.
