Nobody is quite like Burroughs, but you might want to try the other Beats, esp. Jack Kerouac (On the Road, The Dharma Bums, Desolation Angels, Big Sur, Lonesome Traveler, Vanity of Duluoz, Subterraneans), as well as poets Allan Ginsberg & Gregory Corso. Also, if you like off-the-wall, Charles Bukowski - novels, short stories & poetry. Also, Henry Miller - esp. Tropic of Cancer - and Louis Ferdinand Celine - esp, Journey to the End of the Night and Death on the Installment Plan. You might like Franz Kafka - The Metamorphosis, The Trial, The Castle. And a personal favorite, A Fan's Notes by Frederick Exley.

- Read most of those, not Exley or Celine. Thanks.
