I like the following books/authors. Please recommend similar books/authors for me to explore.?
I like cruel/sarcastic type books mainly. And they have to be witty.
Here are some I like....so I don't need to know about the below authors as I have explored all avenues.
All Michel Houllebecq books
Some Hope by Edward St Aubyn
Mothers Milk by Edward St Aubyn
A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole
American Psycho by Brett Easton Ellis
Most if not all Eveyln Waugh books
Additional Details
I guess stick to post 1900s also.

All famous. All good writers. Don't discriminate about the fact that they are science fiction writers. Cheers.

By all means check out Chrisopher Moore. He is very sarcastic and witty. His new vampire book You Suck is hilarious. Also try Carl Hiaasen. I loved all of his books but especially Lucky Me. Pax - C.

You SAY that you like "WITTY" literature? If that is TRUE, my friend, then the fact is, that YOU, - as I do, - will LOVE the "WAR MEMOIRS", of the LATE, GREAT SPIKE MILLIGAN!
I don't KNOW whether MANY of the events, described, actually HAPPENED, but, - if you like WIT, - you will LOVE these books! Check them OUT, - they are HILARIOUS!

Try Iain Banks. Start with the Wasp Factory, black comedy at it's very blackest.
He does write Sci/Fi, but those books are published under Iain M. Banks. So you can dodge them if you want although they too are incredibly dark and humorous.
Or why not give Joseph Heller a go, Catch 22 is a riot.
