Adderall XL how long do I need this Medication? I am 56yr old female who should of been on this years ago.?

I started in Nov. of 06 at the lowest dose and am now at 25mg and think this is fine. I usually only take Mon thru Friday giving myself a break on Weekends. It definately has help me during work as I am much more focused and able to do a superior job. I am now wondering if this is a lifetime thing for me? Any help would be appreciated. I wish I had discovered this when I was younger. I know I had ADHD now that I have studied all the symptons. Help?

You have to take them for the rest of your life. IF you stop your symptoms will come back and stronger than before.

A: We had our son on Adderall for over a year. It was helping him and he was doing great in school. Then we noticed his hands and feet started to turn purple and very cold. We took him to his doctor and they said take him to Children’s Hospital. They told us there it was from the Adderall. The doctor said it can constrict the blood vessels where they can go into spasms and he wasn’t getting oxygen to her hands and feet. He had to be put on blood pressure medication to help the circulation. We don’t know if this will leave long term effects on him.

Adderall, a commonly prescribed medication for children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), and related disorders, is the subject of a great deal of controversy in the medical profession and in the media.

It is advised in case of sleep disorder and I am afraid you will have to take it for may be whole life.

well I take it and missing a day is not good you want the level to build up in your blood so you will get the full effect from it and you must be tested for ADHD to be told you have it but if it is working than keep taking it yes keep taking it because ADHD does not go away and its works when you retire you might want to go off or to a lower dose but do not look a gift horse in the mouth
