What Is The Difference Between Oxy Cottin 10Mg & Percocet 10/325 (Besides The Tylenol) & Which Is Stronger?

I Relise That Percocet Has Tylenol & That Oxy Cottin Doesn't But Is That The Only Difference? I Know They Are Both Oxycodone. I Just Need More Info. I Am On Both, The Oxy Cottin 10Mg For My Day-To-Day Pain & The Percocet 10Mg For Breakthrough Pain. Thank You!

Oxycontin is a controlled-release formulation. It's designed for slow, steady release of the drug so there's a lower but steady level of the drug in your bloodstream. The Percocet peaks in a half hour or so and drops away after three or four hours. People with chronic pain may do well with a baseline level of Oxycontin and use the Percocet as a "rescue drug" every now and then when they have a period of "breakthrough pain" not controlled by the Oxycontin.

oxycontin is supposed to be stronger because it is meant to last longer, i think percocet just works in bursts for a short while to keep the pain under control. sorry i can't be of much help.

They both have 10 mg of oxycodone- same dose.
The percocet has an additional pain reliever, acetaminophen. The additional pain reliver theoretically should provide more relief for breakthrough pain.

And it's Oxycontin, not cottin.
