a rebound girlfriend to me would be right after the boy just broke up with you and he never really had feelings for you before maybe not of even talked to you and then when you date you can tell he isn't into you.

It really doesn't matter. If this is something you've been focusing on then you've changed the way you would have normally been in the relationship. You have to not think about that, the past, and just think about how lucky this guy is to have you. If you feel this way, then you're only pushing him away because it will show in your behavior that you don't feel good enough. Sweetie, don't care about his past girlfriends, he's got a great love right now, right? Act the part, and let go of the rest.

You're a rebound girlfriend if: when he is with you all he talks about is his ex, all he wants to do are things that he and his ex did, and you maybe even remind him of his ex, or he has called you by her name.
Otherwise if he did have a great love earlier in the year, maybe he has just decided that it is time to move on, and has chosen you to do that, or sees you as a 'safe' relationship, ie one that he doesn't have to get too involved in, and can just have fun.

I tend to go after the ex's close friends and siblings. If sleeping with you wouldn't hurt the ex, you're not a rebound.
