Carpenter bees are not like other bees. They are solitary. So you may have 1 carpenter bee, and makes one tiny hole, they don't actually eat wood as a food source. I had the same carpenter bee for several years, made one hole and never bothered anyone. Why do you want to kill every bug you see? At most they cause cosmetic damage to wood, they will not structurally damage your home and are important pollinators in nature.
