How do I clean mold off the painted walls in my bathroom w/o taking the paint off?

I have bef but took some of the paint off. I used bleach/water. Also, it gave me an awful sore throat, even with good ventilation. There is no electric vent/fan in our bathroom, only a window. Anything else work better than bleach??

To remove and inhibit bathroom mold and mildew, pour a solution of 3 tablespoons white vinegar, 1 teaspoon borax, and 2 cups hot water into a clean, recycled spray bottle and give it a few good shakes. Then spray the mixture on painted surfaces, tiles, windows, or wherever you see mold or mildew spots. Use a soft scrub brush to work the solution into the stains or just let it soak in. If your throat is left raw by a bad cough, or even a speaking or singing engagement, you'll find fast relief by gargling with 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar and 1 teaspoon salt dissolved in a glass of warm water; use several times a day if needed.

Personal experience, Using White Vinegar to clean whole house, clean and deodorize laundry remove stains, disinfect, and Vinegar is even touted as being the best disnfectant in the world, you can even use it to wash and clean your automobiles inside and out. Spray lysol that is in the white can on the mold (it doesnt smell) this will kill the mold it may take a while maybe couple of hours. after just clean with a wet cloth. I used it in my house and it worked wonders

Do you have a product called 'exit mould'? if so thats the stuff to use but beware the smell is bad. Unfortunately the only way to get rid of mould is to use bleach. Anything else might remove the surface mould but bleach kills it so it stops growing. Good luck with that

I just used mildew cleaner. Not sure what brand, and it came off. Open the window and wear a facemask.

It may be a pain, but they sell paint that is mildew resistant. We repainted our ceiling with this about six weeks ago. So far, so good. It's a bit expensive, but may be worth it. We also always open the window now when we shower, even in the cold weather. We have not had one single spot of mildew since we repainted and are making sure to open the window.

There are spray solutions in the super markets that are more gentle than clorox or bleach. Wear a mask, or tie a scarf round your face to prevent inhaling it.
It is most important to get the mold out, it is most unhealthy to inhale the mold spors. Keep the window open, dry off the bathtub doors, or shower sliders after showering or bathing, to cut down on feeding the mold with humidity.

go to your local home depot's paint department and ask there. there is one product that i love. i think its name is TSP or, PST. anyway, they will know. pick up some masks while you are there. once the walls are clean, you should use a spray bottle to coat them with bleach to keep the mold from re-forming and know that it is healthier to be cold than it is to live with mold - keep that window cracked at all times if possible.

not really no. bleach kills mold and mildew. just spray it on and leave it if the bleach really bothers you that much use a dust mask. spray it on, and leave the room close the door and use a small fan for ventilation.

There is a risky desease in mold, so you might consider replacing the dry wall and painting again.

Have some eggs, cabbage, beer, and chili, and then go to the bathroom the next day! This should inielate any mold or anything or anyone in the bathroom for several days!! ☺

tilex will take care of the mildew and will not take paint off unless poor workmanship was done.

Use Tilex mold and mildew. I had the same problem and I haven't had mold in my bathroom since.
