I wouldn't suggest either the Straosphere or Circus Circus. The are too far away from the action and if you read on down to other questions they are considered the "ghetto". They are very old compared to the strip. Circus Circus is geared toward children. Try MGM, The Mirage, New York or The Luxor. They are moderately priced. I book my vacations on www.vegas.com and do the package deal. Have fun, I'm going in July.

Well if you are looking for something really reasonable, your best choices would be Harrah's, Circus Circus, or the Stratosphere if you want to stay on the strip. The Luxor (which is the pyramid) is more expensive then some of the hotels but it is also located on the end of the strip, so be prepared for a lengthy walk. I stayed at the Stratosphere and absolutely loved it. The rooms were basic but very clean plus you got a free ticket to go up to the observation deck and it was incredible. Unfortunately, it too is located at the end of the strip but consider it exercise. I booked my trip though www.priceline.com and they had a lot of info on all the different hotels and flights. It only cost $333 per person for 4 nights including airfare from Providence RI. Good Luck!

Do not stay at circus circus or the stratosphere. These are the nastiest hotels i have ever seen. The luxor is nice, and fairly priced, but not really in a good location on the strip. I would say either Cesar's palace or planet Hollywood (old Aladdin) would be good choices. Both center strip and fairly priced. If you are looking for a nice room, but for a budget right in the heart of the strip stay at ballys. It is a very nice hotel, clean, and friendly. Do not i repeat do not stay down in old Vegas, or at circus circus, flamingo, stratosphere, hooters, or any other 40 dollar room for that matter. Over all I believe ballys will be the best choice for what you are describing.

I suggest the Stratosphere. Its got great features and is by far the most affordable on the strip.

The "pyramid" is called the Luxor. It's not that expensive, although keep in mind that on the weekend, most of the hotels are higher. Whatever you do, stay away from Circus Circus (travel agents have a problems with sending black people there). It is an awful hotel. I have stayed at:

    The Luxor
    MGM
    Harrahs
    The Rio
    Caesars
    The Flamingo
    The Mirage
    The Venetian

My favorite is the Rio. The rooms are "suites" and they have plenty of excitment going on. Not to mention the clubs, and Prince (until the end of March) performs on Friday and Saturday nights.

    Good Luck

Stay downtown on Fremont Street! Th hotels are much cheaper than on the strip, and in 5 minutes walk you can hit about 10 casinos! The light show is great at night on the hour, and for the price you save on your room, you can taxi to the strip if you want! Food is good at the Golden Gate Restaurant, and sadwiches at the back bar are reasonable too! The Fitzgerald is nice, and I have no complaints about the Plaza either...and their rates are very reasonable! Room rates are always more on week-end and Hollidays. Have Fun!

Luxor (pyramid) is always a good deal, because it's great and not too expensive.

However, TI (Treasure Island) has been renovated -- it's more youthful and fun -- and it's an awesome and affordable place to stay.
