Drank and took tylenol while pregnant?

I didnt yet know I was pregnant.. so I must have been around 1 or 2 weeks.. and I had some vodka and coke (soda) one night.. Not a lot, but I had maybe 2 full shots? and then about 4 weeks after conception I took something similar to tylenol. Is my baby going to be okay?

The baby should be fine. A lot of women take or drink stuff in the very early stages of pg because they do not know. Make sure your OB knows you took this stuff and stay away from it until the pg is over. Congrats on the pregnancy!! :)

There is a good chance your baby will still turn out fine.

Alcohol on a regula basis can give rise to Foetal Alcohol Syndrome and tylenol and other NSAID medications can cause changes in baby's circulation and eventually cause miscarriage.

Try to stick with paracetamol (acetaminophen) instead of ibuprofen or aspirin.

You should be fine, many women drink before they realize they are preg. Now that you know, I wouldn't suggest frinking anymore though. Tylenol is ok to take while preg.

There is a lot of people that did not know they were pregnant and drank including myself, and my daughter was perfectly fine, but that does not mean it is ok to drink when you know your pregnant, as for the tylenol if it is acetominephen that is ok to take while pregnent

I had this same concern when I was pregnant- before I found out I was pregnant my husband and I went on a vacation and polished off several bottles of wine over the course of one weekend. My dr said that it was fine because most women behave differently before they know they are pregnant. As for the tylenol, you can take acetophinomen (not sure how to spell) when you are pregnant, you just don't want to take aspirin. But again, since you were so early in your pregnancy, don't sweat it. Now that you are aware of your pregnancy, however, you can adjust your habits and do the best things for your child.

You should definitely ask your doctor any questions such as this.

I can tell you that I am 16 weeks pregnant, and didn't know it on New Year's Eve. I didn't drink a lot, but I did have about 2 or 3 mixed drinks. In all 6 of my pregnancies, this has happened prior to knowing that I was pregnant, and in all 6, the doctors always told me that it was O.K, as long as I had stopped! If you continue drinking even after you know, then problems can occur.

As far as taking Tylenol, Acetominophen is the one drug that (in my experience) you ARE allowed to take during pregnancy.

The question of your baby being OK, well, I can't tell you that. Only your doctor can. All I can tell you are MY experiences having children, and what I have been told in the past. If you haven't already had your first appointment, make sure you tell the doctor this.

Everything should be just fine - the best thing you can do now is relax, stay away from alcohol, cut way back on caffeine and avoid aspartame/nutrisweet. Tylenol is the only pain reliever my doc told me was okay while pregnant.
    Enjoy your pregnancy!!

Your baby should be fine, alot of women drink and do other things before they know they are pregnant I did. Before I found out I was pregnant with our daughter I drank I dont know how much vodka on New years and smoked, a week later I found out, and with this one I drank a beer then the next morning I found out. you and the baby will be fine, it good that you are worried some women still drink and do other things while they are pregnant and they know it!! Congratulations

There is good news tylenol is one of the things you can take while pregnant. As far as the drinking goes I'm sure just the one time won't hurt the baby just don't do it any more.Congratulations and good luck

I drank in the early stage of my 2nd pregnancy when I had no idea that I was pregnant. My daughter turned out fine. It is NEVER okay to drink excessively when pregnant, but even a few sips of wine during pregnancy has not been known to negatively effect the baby. Having said that, please use common sense and take care of yourself for your sake and for your unborn child.

Regular strength tylenol was the only pain reliever I was allowed to take during pregnancy. So you should be okay there. Do share this infomation with your doctor, just for safety's sake.

    Congratulations!

Yes the baby will be fine. I went to a Christmas party and drank a lot when I was pregnant with my twins before I knew. I felt so bad when I found out and was worried sick but they were born perfectly healthy big babies 6lbs 7 oz and 6 lbs 13oz. As far as the Tylenol goes it is safe during pregnancy. Good luck with the baby.

The name for tylenol is acetiminophen. regular tylenol is okay for pregnancy although just to be safe, I'd stick to the generic that says "acetiminophen". Although doctors have not determined a 'safe' amount of alcohol for a pregnant woman, since you did not know and weren't very far along (in fact, the egg probably hadn't even implanted yet) , the odds of your baby having FAS, "fetal alcohol syndrome", are very slim. I would inform your OB and they can help you determine if you are at risk or not. Also, ask your OB for a list of meds that you can take during pregnancy to help with headaches, nausea, etc...If you are EVER unsure about a med, ,call your OB and talk to a nurse. They can help you. Good luck and congratulations.

You and your baby should be just fine. I had celebrated my 23 birthday with quite a bit to drink and I found out a week later that I was 4 weeks pregnant. Everything is going well with my baby. Just make sure you are no longer drinking, and Tylenol is OK in moderation. And make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins daily. Congrats and Good Luck.

Okay, here's my story about what I did before I knew I was pregnant. I went on vacation to Orlando - went on roller coasters, went in hot tubs, drank margaritas...Then on Halloween I went to a party and got drunk...the next weekend I had a few cocktails (not enough to get drunk though).

I didn't know I was pregnant until I was 6-7 weeks along. Obviously I stopped drinking once I knew. Oops! I was ridiculously worried but my doctor assured me that everything would be okay. Lots of women do things before they know they are pregnant that they wouldn't do if they knew. Unfortunately there's no alarm that goes off the second conception happens so we dont' know right away. It happens and your baby will be fine.
