How do you kill ants inside the house?

I am having ant problems in my bedroom. Maybe there was candy that they could smell. There was a cough drop that was coverd with ants. They came through a crack through the window. What should I do? How can i killed them? My sister is living in that room with me. I already taped the window cracks with masking tape.

Buy ant baits from Home Depot or Ace hardware. There are several brands but use the same type of chemicals for bait. These are safe to use, non-toxic to humans, only to ants. You place it strategically in their paths in the room. They will eat and bring chunks of food from it to their queen which will then poison the whole colony.

Ants can be very tricky little critters! Are you familiar with eye washes that you buy in the pharmacy section of your local store?
Get an eye wash; its primary ingredient is boric acid. Sprinkle the boric acid around the baseboards of your room. The ants will walk across it, carry it on their feet to their nest, and ZAP! before you know it, the ants will be dead and gone. Good luck!
