How many rat poison pellets does a rat have to ingest before it kills it?

I HAVE RECENTLY HAVE A RAT PROBLEM IN MY APT. WE GOT ONE THE OTHER DAY W/PEANUT BUTTER & POISON PELLETS ON A WOODEN TRAP. THEY ARE CLEVER & CAN EAT THE STUFF RIGHT OFF THE TRAP W/OUT THE TRAP SNAPPING. SO I HAVE D CON POISON PELLET TRAY WHICH I MIXED PEANUT BUTTER INTO IT. THEY ARE EATING IT BUT HOW MUCH THEY ARE INGESTING I DON'T KNOW. JUST WONDERING HOW MUCH THE RATS HAVE TO INGEST FOR IT TO KILL THEM? ALSO IS ANTI-FREEZE A GOOD RAT KILLER?

sticky traps don't work for rats they carry them off and you'll find them later stuck on walls floors but no rat. i put dcon down and i continue to do it till i notice there wasn't any missing from the box anymore. its about 4 days i believe before they finally eat enough, don't get discourage hang in there and keep the dcon filled . but if you have animals or children make sure they cant reach or get into. anti freeze does work but highly toxic also. so i would just hang in there stick with dcon and soon they will be gone :)

I don't know how many pellets it would take, but the answer to your second question is: Anti-freeze will kill mice and rats IF they are thirsty enough to drink it. If they have fresh water available, they will drink that first. But, if they are thirsty they will drink anti-freeze. They also are attracted to the sweetness of it. That is why it is important to clean up spills in your driveway or garage, because dogs and cats also like the sweetness of anti-freeze.

anti freeze is definatley toxic, but you don't want the fumes in your apartment. just mix a generous amount of rat pellets into the peanut butter. if they don't eat it, use a little less. and buy more sensitve traps, or glue pads.
