Should I change my name? It's Joey Fart-Laoud, and people always make jokes.?

Girls make farting sounds whenever I walk past them in the hall or if I bend down to pick up a quarter.

Your name is absolutely not suitable in the US or anywhere else in the English-speaking world. Mine used to be just as bad. I could not get dates or make friends. It sucked.

I would if I planned to live, work and socialize in the US for the rest of my life. Unless you want to be seen as a freak. And no girl would liek to adopt a name like that as a married name. And who would want to hire someone like this?

Many people have changed their names, even Anglo-Saxon people have. Your name is to be used by other people mostly to refer to you. And it is for others to use not for you to use. So, it's no joking matter. And forget about "national pride". You have to live a normal life and Fart Laoud will not allow you to do that. I mean it. It's no joke. Have it changed asap.


You can, however, change it to another version of itself, a more "American" one- Farlood/Farood/Flood/ or something like that.

Changing a name is fairly easy in the US- contact your local court house or your lawyer/paralegal. I have changed my name and it's been great since then.

Sit down and think of what name you can use. Do some sketching on a piece of paper.

Joey Flood sounds great to me. Very masculine.

It is your legal right to be called any way you wish ( as long as it does not interfere with another person's rights)

Go for it! And you don't need anyone's approval, leastways, your family's. They won't understand- they do not have to live with daily taunts, do they?
